Richmond Kitchen Renovation | More Storage & Modern Style

Looking for professional kitchen renovation services in Richmond? This project shows how thoughtful planning, quality materials, and customized storage solutions can transform an outdated kitchen into a modern, functional space designed for everyday living.

🔴 Before Renovation | Existing Kitchen Challenges

The kitchen in this Richmond townhouse still had its original builder-grade finishes and had never been renovated. Over time, several issues became apparent:

‼️Limited cabinet storage: The original upper cabinets did not extend to the ceiling, leaving valuable vertical space unused.
‼️Outdated wood countertop: The existing countertop showed signs of wear and was difficult to maintain.
‼️Poor appliance planning: Appliance locations had not been properly considered, while the limited number of electrical outlets increased the risk of overloaded circuits.

✅ Kitchen Renovation & Upgrade Highlights

1. A Fresh, Modern Kitchen Design
✔️ Quality materials and a bright colour palette were selected to make the kitchen feel more open, clean, and contemporary.
✔️ The new design balances aesthetics with everyday functionality, creating a kitchen that is both practical and visually refined.

2. Double-Stacked Upper Cabinets for Additional Storage
✔️ Upper cabinetry was extended to the 9-foot ceiling with a double-stacked cabinet design.
✔️ The additional vertical storage provides more room for kitchen essentials while reducing countertop clutter and maintaining a cleaner overall appearance.

3. Customized Appliance & Electrical Planning
✔️ Appliance requirements were reviewed in advance to determine practical locations for each appliance.
✔️ Additional dedicated electrical outlets and circuits were incorporated where required, improving convenience and reducing the risk of circuit overload.

4. Durable, Easy-to-Maintain Countertops & Backsplash
✔️ An engineered stone countertop provides a durable, water-resistant, and easy-to-clean work surface.
✔️ A tiled backsplash was installed to protect the wall from water, cooking splashes, and everyday wear while adding another layer of visual detail.

5. Improved Lighting for a Better Cooking Environment
✔️ Recessed pot lights were installed to provide sufficient illumination throughout the main cooking and preparation areas.
✔️ Brighter, more even lighting improves visibility and gives the kitchen a cleaner, more contemporary appearance.
