Delta Bathroom Renovation | Creating a Safer, More Comfortable Senior-Friendly Bathroom
This Delta bathroom renovation was designed for an older couple who wanted to improve the safety, accessibility, and everyday comfort of their home.
The original bathrooms had limited shower space, inefficient circulation, and fixtures that were becoming increasingly difficult to use. Through thoughtful space planning, carefully selected materials, and practical upgrades, we created two senior-friendly bathrooms designed to support safer and more comfortable aging in place.
🔴 Before Renovation | Key Challenges
‼️ Limited shower space made everyday use less comfortable
‼️ Inefficient circulation made it more difficult to move around the bathrooms
‼️ The existing bathtub configuration increased the risk of slips and falls
‼️ Insufficient lighting affected visibility and overall safety
🟢 After Renovation | Senior-Friendly Function Meets Modern Design
1. Guest Bathroom Renovation | Second Floor
The guest bathroom was redesigned with a strong focus on accessibility, safety, and ease of maintenance.
✔️ The shower area was expanded to provide more comfortable and accessible bathing space.
✔️ High-quality moisture-resistant wall tiles provide a durable, easy-to-clean finish.
✔️ New slip-resistant floor tiles improve traction and everyday safety.
✔️ Walls were finished with Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint for improved durability and moisture resistance.
✔️ A new vanity, mirror, and sink provide updated storage and a cleaner, more contemporary appearance.
✔️ A high-performance exhaust fan improves ventilation and helps control bathroom moisture.
✔️ A Neo 6078 10 mm glass shower door and 6032 slip-resistant shower base provide a durable and practical shower enclosure.
✔️ The traditional bathtub was replaced with a spacious shower base, making entry and exit easier while helping reduce the risk of slips and falls.
✔️ A new GFCI outlet improves electrical safety in the bathroom.
2. Primary Bathroom Renovation | Second Floor
The primary bathroom was also redesigned to improve comfort and functionality while maintaining a refined, modern aesthetic.
✔️ The original built-in bathtub was replaced with a freestanding tub, reducing visual bulk and creating a more open layout.
✔️ Full-height wall tile creates a cohesive, sophisticated appearance while providing a durable, moisture-resistant surface.
✔️ A custom vanity and mirror lighting improve both storage and everyday functionality.
✔️ A double-sink vanity allows two people to comfortably use the space at the same time.
✔️ A 60" W × 74" H tempered glass shower door provides durability, safety, and a clean contemporary finish.
✔️ A high-performance Panasonic exhaust fan improves ventilation and helps manage moisture.
✔️ New slip-resistant floor tiles provide additional traction and long-term durability.
✔️ An additional GFCI outlet enhances electrical safety.
Designed for Safer, More Comfortable Everyday Living
This renovation demonstrates that an aging-in-place bathroom can be both practical and beautifully designed.
By improving circulation, increasing shower space, introducing slip-resistant surfaces, and upgrading ventilation, lighting, and fixtures, we created bathrooms that better support the homeowners’ current needs while also considering their comfort and safety for the years ahead.
