Richmond Condo Renovation | A Bright & Modern Transformation Without Major Layout Changes
This renovation project took place in a condo in Richmond, BC. Rather than making major changes to the existing layout, we focused on carefully updating the materials, colour palette, and design details to improve both the overall appearance and everyday functionality of the home.
The original space was fully functional, but its warm wood tones, dark countertops, and more traditional finishes made the interior feel visually heavy and limited the sense of brightness and openness.
With simplicity, brightness, and modern living as the core design direction, we focused on strategic upgrades rather than extensive demolition—allowing us to create a noticeable transformation while working within the homeowner’s budget.
Kitchen | A Brighter, More Open Focal Point
The original dark finishes were replaced with high-gloss white cabinetry and white stone-look countertops, immediately giving the kitchen a cleaner and more contemporary appearance.
A single-bowl square sink paired with a high-arc faucet improves everyday functionality, while the addition of an open breakfast bar creates a stronger connection between the kitchen and surrounding living areas.
The result is a kitchen that feels brighter, more spacious, and better integrated into daily life.
Bathroom | Clean, Simple & Hotel-Inspired
The existing bathroom layout was retained, while key finishes—including the vanity, countertop, and flooring—were updated to establish a more cohesive modern aesthetic.
A palette of crisp white and stone-inspired finishes, paired with clean lines and contemporary fixtures, transforms the bathroom into a space that feels fresh, refined, and subtly hotel-inspired.
Flooring | Creating Visual Continuity
The flooring throughout the condo was replaced with light, cool-toned wood-look flooring, helping unify the colour temperature across the interior.
The lighter flooring also enhances the reflection of natural light, allowing the condo to feel brighter, more open, and visually connected from room to room.
A Thoughtful Renovation Within Budget
To stay within the homeowner’s renovation budget, the existing wall paint was retained.
Rather than relying on a complete interior overhaul, we focused the investment on the elements that would create the greatest visual and functional impact—cabinetry, countertops, flooring, fixtures, and key design details.
The result demonstrates that a successful renovation does not always require major structural changes. With thoughtful material selections and strategic upgrades, an existing space can feel significantly brighter, more modern, and better suited to everyday living.
We believe a well-designed renovation is not simply about updating a home—it is about improving the way the space supports the people who live in it.
