Project_MS - Kitchen Renovation - Surrey
Project type
Kitchen Renovation
Date
2025/11
Location
Vancouver
This kitchen cabinet renovation was designed around three key ideas: bright, natural, and clean. The original traditional American-style oak kitchen was transformed into a modern Scandinavian-inspired space through a thoughtful combination of materials, colours, and streamlined details.
The result is a kitchen that balances the warmth of natural wood with a clean, minimalist aesthetic.
✨ Design Highlights
🔹 Upper Cabinets | Matte White
Matte white upper cabinetry visually opens up the space, creating a bright, clean, and streamlined appearance.
🔹 Lower Cabinets | Light Wood Grain
Light wood-grain cabinetry introduces natural warmth and softens the overall look while maintaining the Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic.
🔹 Refrigerator Area | Matte Black Storage Wall
A matte black full-height storage wall surrounding the refrigerator creates a bold focal point and provides visual balance against the lighter finishes throughout the kitchen.
🔹 Countertop & Backsplash | Seamless Marble-Look Surface
A marble-look engineered stone surface extends from the countertop to the backsplash, creating a cohesive appearance with clean lines and seamless visual flow.
🔹 Lighting | Recessed Lighting
Traditional ceiling fixtures were replaced with recessed lighting, providing softer, more even illumination while contributing to the kitchen's clean and contemporary look.
📍 Overall Design
Natural light wood × Crisp white × Matte black
Together, these three finishes create a modern kitchen that feels minimalist yet layered, warm yet refined.
The transformation takes the kitchen from visually heavy to light and open, and from purely functional to thoughtfully designed.
More than a renovation, it represents a fresh approach to modern everyday living.
